Samsung Internet TV Widget Content Service

Available now on the Samsung Series 7 and 8 LED televisions is the revolutionary Internet Content Service that delivers a whole host of content via pre-installed widgets.

Yahoo Internet TV Widgets

Samsung have collaborated with Yahoo to produce a set of TV Widgets that allow the user to interact with some of the Yahoo Internet services direct from the led television. Content at the moment includes Flickr™, Yahoo News, Yahoo Finance and Yahoo Weather services.

Content is delivered direct to the screen via a High Speed Connection. The new Samsung 7000, 7100 and 8000 LED TV models can connect to your home network via Ethernet or by Wi-Fi feed via a suitable router and optional USB dongle.

The latest top end line up of Samsung LED televisions now offer internet content similar to what is offered on a PC.

Third Party Content on Samsung LED Televisions

By using the open platform Widget Development Kit (WKD) developers have been busy producing widgets that will connect to the Samsung Internet@ TV Content Service. On board at the moment are USA Today®, YouTube™, Ebay® and Showtime Network®. At the time writing an announcement had been made regarding BlockBuster Video on Demand service although this is to be confirmed.

Although limited at the moment it is expected that the amount content that will be available via the Samsung Internet@ TV service will grow and we are sure that there will be something available for everyone.
