The UN40B7000 is a 40 inch (diagonal) sized product from the Samsung LED TV range. Samsung are currently the pioneers in terms of delivering new technology to LCD televisions to give the best performance for your money. The major difference with this range of TVs is that they are lit using LEDs, a series of which are placed around the edge of the LCD screen to provide illumination. This is instead of using the conventional technology, Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps, which can give poor illumination to all parts of the screen, and often make the edges appear unnaturally bright. The use of LEDs as a lighting source makes the unit very energy efficient, as well as very light, and it is perfect for mounting on walls. Also, this Samsung LED TV is designed to be as thin as possible, and is only 1.2 inches thick at the deepest point. The back of the TV is not completely flat, so it actually appears even thinner when mounted, unlike some square flat back TVs in a similar price range.
