Samsung LED TV sets are the latest and arguably the greatest advancement in HDTV technology since the first slew of high definition TVs were made available to the public. And like any new technology there are the inevitable high prices which are set to slip as demand rises and early adopters recommend their friends to the new technology. So what is it about this particular Samsung LED TV that might attract you to make a purchase?

First of all there's the LED technology that lights this screen. Because LEDs take up such little space this will be the thinnest HD TV set you've ever seen at just under 1.2" in thickness. When you consider that this is a massive 55" HDTV the sheer lack of depth will be very impressive and makes it particularly suitable for mounting on a wall as it won't protrude too much and look clunky as is often the case with other HD TV sets. This thin design also means it's far more energy efficient than the competition which can only be a good thing.

Like other current generation Samsung LED TV sets the UN55B6000 is drop dead gorgeous. The styling of the plastic surrounding the screen looks and feels like it's worth every penny going from black to red to a thin rim of clear plastic. There are a couple of other touches of color available depending on which you prefer, but for most purposes the red is understated and looks great. Samsung LED TV sets, being what they are, won't offer much in the way of backward compatibility for your old analogue sources like VHS, but then if you're going to spend this much on a TV you'll want something that will take advantage of one of the 4 HDMI ports.
