Samsung UN55EH6000 Review

If you are looking for a HD TV with better picture quality, you will not go wrong with Samsung UN55EH6000 TV.

This set really delivers on the light flow-through and contrast.

While the black levels are strong, the bright light in the background offer a differentiating factor. Below is an overview of the specs of the TV.

Appearance

The Samsung UN55EH6000 does not come in the typical flashy designs of many of the HDTVs in the market.
The model has a thin black bezel that is .75 inches in width.

The screen depth is also very thin at just under 3.7 inches. While the design is not refined, the TV is good looking and its price is even better for HD.

Connect Share

This panel features a Samsung’s ConnectShare application that allows the consumer to plugin an external hard drive or pen drive via its USB port.
This feature is useful if you have a collection of photos stored on a pen drive as you can just plugin the portable stick and view your pics on a huge 55 inch screen.

The fun does not stop there as you will also be able to listen to your mp3 music files, plus you can watch any of your home movies or downloads direct from the stick/thumb drive.

Clear Coat Screen

The TV features Clear Coat screen technology that provided awesome pictures.

The pictures shown have a perception of depth.
There contrast and black levels come out clearly in the images and allow the whites to peak out.

Picture Color

Colored pictures come out rich and crisp.
However, you have to adjust the backlight to moderate levels or else the colors will be washed out.

The blacks are very saturated and flesh tones look natural.
Color rendition is something that this HDTV stands out for.

Black Levels

One of strong points of the TV is black performance.
The blacks are dark and inky and provide better details than the previous HDTV models.

However, you have to keep the backlight at the right setting to enjoy good picture quality.
Dark scenes have better details in the EH6000 than in the previous models.

Many reviewers over at Amazon are a pretty satisfied bunch as they have been reporting that the black levels associated with this panel are exceptional.

Side Angle Viewing

The side angle viewing performance of the E6000 is not bad for an edge lit LED television.

The contrast starts to fade at around 30 degrees but is helped by the wide color enhancer technology built into the TV.

Compared with 2011’s D6000 series, the EH6000 has lower black level loss and less contrast.

Multimedia and Internet

The Samsung UN55EH6000 has an easy-to-access USB and its smart menu makes its operations easy.
The USB port is located at the right side and sits between two HDMI ports.

The smart menu is straight forward and easy to use.
Like with other Samsung models, you can customize the playback and edit the playlist.

As mentioned earlier this HDTV can play back video clips, music, and photos from a USB drive, but please be aware that this model is a budget TV and will not connect to the internet.
